Die neu aufgestellte Normenreihe DIN 18531 "Abdichtung von Dächern sowie von Balkonen, Loggien und Laubengängen" stellt für den Anwender eine umfassende Grundlage für die Planung, Ausführung und Bewertung von Maßnahmen zur Abdichtung dieser Bauteile dar. Dieser Kommentar gibt im ersten Teil eine allgemeine Einführung in die neuen DIN-Normen zur Abdichtung von Bauwerken. Im zweiten Teil erfolgt die Kommentierung ausgewählter Normabschnitte von DIN 18531, Teile 1 bis 5 um die mitunter komplexen Regeln zu erläutern und die Zusammenhänge zwischen den Normenteilen zu verdeutlichen. Zur besseren Orientierung sind die Originaltexte grau unterlegt, die Erläuterungen folgen direkt im Anschluss. Der vollständige Text aller Teile von DIN 18531 ist im DIN-Taschenbuch 129 enthalten.
