Das AIAG & VDA-FMEA-Handbuch dient als Hilfestellung für Zulieferer der Automobilindustrie bei der Erstellung von Design-FMEA, Prozess-FMEA und FMEA-Ergänzungen für Monitoring und Systemreaktion.
Das Handbuch definiert keine Anforderungen, es erläutert lediglich die für die technische Erstellung von FMEA notwendigen Arbeitsschritte, Abläufe und Werkzeuge. Es wurde dabei darauf geachtet, das AIAG & VDA-FMEA-Handbuch auf den Standard SAE J1739 abzustimmen.
Die wichtigsten änderungen im Vergleich zur 4. Ausgabe des AIAG-FMEA-Handbuchs und zum VDA-Band 4 sind in Anhang F aufgelistet.
Das Urheberrecht auf das vorliegende Handbuch liegt bei der AIAG und dem VDA, sämtliche Rechte bleiben vorbehalten.
