Die Fahrzeughersteller und die Zulieferindustrie sind gefordert, diese Produkteigenschaften eigenverantwortlich zu identifizieren und in die Produkte zu überführen. Dieser Ansatz ist auch bei der Durchführung von Produktaudits zu berücksichtigen.
In der Prozesskette soll das Produktaudit das Qualitätsniveau der intern/ extern gefertigten Produkte aufzeigen. Diese dritte Auflage des VDA-Bandes 6 Teil 5 – Produktaudit ersetzt die zweite Auflage aus dem Jahr 2008.
