Norma ČSN EN 1288-2 předepisuje zkušební metodu pro stanovení pevnosti stavebního skla v ohybu, výhradně na vzorcích plochého skla s velkým povrchem. Při zkoušení plochých skel podle této normy je vyloučen vliv hran skla. Výsledky zkoušení dle této normy slouží pro návrhy použití plochého skla v budovách.
