1. Scope | ||||||
1.1 These test methods cover the procedures for determining the uncured (wet) and conditioned (dry) densities of resin, silicate, silica, and sulfur-based chemical-resistant mortars, grouts, monolithic surfacings, and polymer concretes. 1.2 Mold Method A outlines the molding procedure generally used for systems containing aggregate less than 0.2 in. (5 mm) in size. Mold Method B covers the molding procedure generally used for systems containing aggregate from 0.2 to 0.4 in. (10 mm) in size. Mold Method C is for systems containing aggregate larger than 0.4 in. 1.3 Density Method I: Apparent Uncured Density of Resin, Silica, and Silicate Materials--This test method is not applicable to sulfur materials. 1.4 Density Method II: Apparent Conditioned Density of Resin and Sulfur-based Materials--This test method may be applicable to silica or silicate materials if they are not water-sensitive. 1.5 Density Method III: Apparent Conditioned Density of Silica and Silicate Materials that are Water Sensitive. 1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. |
