This specification covers the test methods and requirements for HFC-23 (trifluoromethane, CHF3) as a fire fighting medium. This specification, however, does not address the fire fighting equipment or hardware that employs HFC-23 or the conditions of employing such equipment (for example, handshields, fixed installations, etc.).
