1. Scope | ||||||||
1.1 This test method covers the determination of chlorine in lubricating oils and greases, including new and used lubricating oils and greases containing additives, and in additive concentrates. Its range of applicability is 0.1 to 50% chlorine. The procedure assumes that compounds containing halogens other than chlorine will not be present. 1.2 The preferred units are mass percent and SI. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. |
