1.1 This test method covers the static thermal response of direct thermal papers to determine uniformity within and between lots. This test method can also be used to test other direct thermal products with substrates other than paper. 1.2 The instrument described in this test method may be used for specification acceptance, product development or research applications, or both, but its primary use is for manufacturing control. 1.3 The values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are to be regarded separately as the standard.
