1. Scope | ||||
1.1 This method covers testing the relative resistance of pipeline coatings to cracking and spalling from deformation of the pipe by observing the effects of diametral compression of ring samples. The method is limited to thin film coatings having an elongation not exceeding 5.0%. 1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use.
