1. Scope |
1.1 This provisional practice covers the analysis of extracts of environmental samples for lead content using field-portable electroanalytical devices. 1.2 Matrices of concern in this provisional practice include paint, settled dust, soil, and air particulate. 1.3 Provisional standards achieve limited consensus through approval of the sponsoring subcommittee. For emerging industries, such as lead paint abatement, provisional standards are very useful to provide an early means of obtaining standardization. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. |
