Norma platí pro objednávání, technické požadavky (tvary pružin, poloha závěsných ok, rozměry, materiál, pracovní podmínky, síly vyvinuté pružinou a její předepisování, stabilita provedení, úprava povrchu, mezní úchylky a tolerance, jakost povrchu), prověřování dodávek a dodávání šroubových pružin válcových tlačných a tažných z drátu a tyčí kruhového průřezu s průměrem od 0,2 mm do 11,8 mm tvářených za studena a s průměrem nad 11,8 mm do 40 mm tvářených za tepla.
Norma neplatí pro pružiny pramencové.
