Norma obsahuje třídicí údaje základních typů korečkových elevátorů a ostatních elevátorů z hlediska jejich konstrukčního provedení, nosných a tažných prostředků, nakládání a vykládání nákladů, dopravní rychlosti a druhu nákladu. Skladba normy navazuje na ISO 7190, jejíž údaje jsou do této normy zapracovány.
