Norma platí pro zkoušení regálových zakladačů, které mají jako nosné prostředky ocelová lana nebo lamelové řetězy. Norma platí i pro dovážené zakladače. Na zkoušení elektrické části regálového zakladače se vztahuje ČSN 33 2540. V poměrně rozsáhlé normě jsou stanoveny druhy zkoušek a metody zkoušení. Mezi normalizovanými metodami jsou mnohé zaměřeny na bezpečnostní parametry a požadavky (bezpečnostní vzdálenost, značení, žebříky, plošiny a zábradlí) na ergonomické požadavky (sedadlo, ovládače apod. - čl.5.4.4.4). ČSN 26 7403 byla vydána v srpnu 1993
