Norma platí pro chemický rozbor olovnato-zinkových rud a určuje stanovení železa metodou titrační. Při provádění rozboru musí být dodržena všechna ustanovení podle ČSN 44 1701. Podstata metody: Vzorek se rozloží kyselinami a nerozpustný zbytek se dotaví s disíranem draselným. Železo se vysráží amoniakem a po rozpuštění sraženiny v kyselině chlorovodíkové se železo stanoví titrací dichromanem draselným za použití difenylaminu jako indikátoru. Postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je podrobně popsán. ČSN 44 1629 byla schválena 18.5.1989 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.6.1990. Nahradila část 10 ČSN 44 1654 z 29.11.1973 a spolu s ČSN 44 1701, ČSN 44 1621 až ČSN 44 1628, ČSN 44 1630 až ČSN 44 1632 ji nahradila v celém rozsahu
