Norma platí pro chemický rozbor molybdenových koncentrátů a určuje stanovení molybdenu vážkovou metodou. Při provádění rozboru musí být dodržena všechna ustanovení podle ČSN 44 1701. Podstata metody: Vzorek se rozloží kyselinami a molybden se oddělí octanem olovnatým v prostředí kyseliny octové a stanoví vážkově. Při obsahu wolframu vyšším než 0,5 % se ve sraženině molybdenanu olovnatého stanoví obsah wolframu fotometricky s rhodanidem amonným a odečte se od hmotnosti sraženiny. Postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je podrobně popsán. ČSN 44 1722 byla schválena 9.6.1989 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.5.1990. Nahradila ČSN 44 1630 část 4 z 9.1.1974 a spolu s ČSN 44 1701, ČSN 44 1721 a ČSN 44 1723 až ČSN 44 1734 ji nahradila v celém rozsahu
