Tato norma stanoví požadavky pro semeno slunečnice jako zemědělského výrobku určeného k průmyslovému zpracování. Požadavky na jakost jsou přizpůsobeny podmínkám stanoveným v ČSN EN ISO 658:2002 Olejnatá semena - Stanovení obsahu nečistot, která mění termíny a definice a současně i způsob posuzování nečistot v olejnatých semenech užívaných jako základní surovina k průmyslovému zpracování. Norma stanoví požadavky na organoleptické vlastnosti semene slunečnice, jeho zdravotní nezávadnost a fyzikální i chemické vlastnosti. Dále stanoví základní hodnoty jednotlivých jakostních ukazatelů pro dodávání.
