Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 4858-84 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR), resp. ČR norma RVHP nedoplňovala. Stručná norma RVHP platí pro brusky pásové, kotoučové a kombinované. Musí být používána společně s ČSN 49 6100. Norma RVHP obsahuje v 11 článcích požadavky pro některá specifická bezpečnostní řešení např. pro blokovací zařízení, pro maximální rychlosti brusného kotouče apod. Hygienickými otázkami se norma nezabývá. ČSN 49 6117 byla schválena 17.8.1987 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.7.1988
