Tato norma platí pro odebírání vzorků a způsoby zkoušení lihovin, tj. lihových nápojů obsahujících více než 20 obj. % ethanolu pocházejícího z destilace lihově zkvašených cukernatých nebo škrobnatých surovin. Způsob odběru vzorků, podstata normalizovaných metod a postup při provádění normalizovaných zkoušek je (podrobně) popsán. Norma tedy stanovuje postupy pro provádění některých zkoušek (metod) zjišťování a/nebo ověřování znaků jakosti, důležitých z hlediska hygieny výživy. ČSN 56 0210 byla schválena 22.4.1964 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1965
