Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 4885-84 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby tehdejší ČSSR (ČSFR) resp. ČR norma nedoplňovala. Podstatou metody RVHP je titrace určeného objemu vinného destilátu a brandy roztokem hydroxidu sodného do pH = 8,5 při potenciometrické titraci. Postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je podrobně popsán. Norma se vztahuje k zjišťování některých kvalitativních znaků (jakosti) významných pro hygienu výživy. ČSN 56 0210-6 byla schválena 13.12.1985 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1987
