Norma je překladem ST SEV 6165-88. Do normy jsou doplněna v čl.3.2, 4.3 a v bodě 1 informační přílohy doplňující ustanovení označená jako "Čs. doplněk", která se netýkají ochrany zdraví. Norma platí pro pneumatiky na osobní automobily a stanoví metodu jejich zkoušení na bubnovém zkušebním stroji při konstantním zatížení a stupňovitém zvyšování rychlosti.
