Tato druhá část normy platí pro stanovení oxidu boritého fotometrickou metodou ve výluzích, získaných po zkoušce odolnosti povrchu skleněných výrobků proti vodě podle ČSN 70 0529. Podstatou metody je reakce boritanů ve stíněném a tlumeném prostředí s azomethinem H za vzniku žlutého komplexu. Absorbance zbarveného roztoku se měří ve světle o vlnové délce 415 nm. Postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je podrobně popsán. Norma obsahuje informační přílohu: "Bezpečnost a ochrana zdraví při práci", která upozorňuje na ČSN 01 8003 a na dráždivý účinek salicylaldehydu pro oči a dýchací cesty. ČSN 70 0527 část 2 byla schválena 8.12.1986 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.12.1987. Nahradila spolu s ostatními částmi 1 a 3 - 7 starší ČSN 70 0527 z r.1973
