Tato část normy platí spolu s ČSN 70 0600 pro stanovení oxidu antimonitého fotometrickou metodou v těch typech skel, u nichž je její použití předepsáno v normě pro rozbor příslušného typu skla. Princip je reakce antimonitých iontů v prostředí kyseliny sírové s jodidem draselným a kyselinou askorbovou za vzniku žlutého zbarvení. Absorbance roztoku se měří ve světle o vlnové délce 420 nm. Postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je podrobně popsán. ČSN 70 0653-1 byla schválena 18.6.1986 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.7.1987
