Norma platí pro stanovení chlóru v odpadních plynech. Je vhodná zejména pro plyny s nízkým obsahem chlóru. Při rozborech je nutno dodržet ustanovení ČSN 83 4751 část 1 a 2. Podstatou normalizované metody je absorpce v roztoku methyloranže a stanovení obsahu chlóru ze snížení absorbance roztoku. Postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je podrobně popsán. ČSN 83 4751 část 3 byla schválena 10.8.1987 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.8.1988
