Tato norma je českou verzí evropské normy EN 10160:1999. Evropská norma EN 10160:1999 má status české technické normy. Tato evropská norma popisuje postup zjišťování vnitřních necelistvostí plochých výrobků ultrazvukem. Vztahuje se na ploché výrobky v rozmezí tlouštěk 6 až 200 mm vyrobených z nelegovaných nebo legovaných ocelí kromě ocelí austenitických nebo austeniticko-feritických. Tato norma může být rovněž použita u posledně jmenovaných druhů ocelí, jestliže rozdíl mezi amplitudou signálu od šumu a amplitudou odpovídající hranici zjistitelnosti vyhovuje stanovené mezní hodnotě. Norma neřeší, neobsahuje a ani se nedotýká ochrany zdraví. ČSN EN 10160 (01 5024) byla vydána v lednu 2000. Nahradila ČSN 01 5024 z 11.5.1987
