Tato norma předepisuje dvě metody stanovení propustnosti oxidu uhličitého povlakovými materiály, povlakovými systémy a podobnými výrobky, které se používají ve vnějším zdivu a betonu. Při použití vážkové metody se stanovuje hmotnost absorbovaného oxidu uhličitého, při použití metody nosného plynu se proniklý CO2 měří pomocí infračervené spektroskopie nebo plynové chromatografie. U obou metod je propustnost založena na rozdílu parciálního tlaku 10 kPa.
