A1 Tato evropská norma specifikuje dvě metody pro stanovení neutralizační hodnoty (NH) materiálů k vápnění půd. Metoda A je použitelná pro všechny materiály k vápnění půd kromě silikátových materiálů. Metoda B je použitelná pro všechny materiály k vápnění půd. Ani jedna metoda nebere správně v potaz potenciální neutralizační hodnotu materiálů obsahujících více než 3 % P2O5.
