Tato evropská norma stanoví konkrétní požadavky a kritéria pro projektování a stavbu komínů z monolitického betonu a betonových prefabrikátů. Uvádí požadavky pro zajištění mechanické odolnosti a stability betonových komínů v souladu s požadavky uvedenými v EN 13084-1. Kritéria uvedená v kapitole 1 EN 13084-1:2000 platí i pro komíny přistavěné k budovám. Pokud následující kapitoly nestanoví jinak, platí základní norma pro navrhování betonových konstrukcí EN 1992-1-1.
