Tato evropská norma byla vypracována s cílem stanovit všeobecná kritéria pro navrhování zařízení pro diváky (pevná, pojízdná, demontovatelná a teleskopická ) a zajištění jejich funkčnosti.
Tato evropská norma stanovuje charakteristiky výrobku pro teleskopické tribuny používané při pořádání stalých nebo dočasných akcí v místech, jako jsou sportovní stadiony, sportovní haly a vnitřní či venkovní zařízení. Na tribuny na výstavištích a v zábavních parcích se tato norma nevztahuje (viz EN 13814).
