Tato evropská norma určuje metodu pro spektrofotometrické stanovení šestimocného chrómu v žárovzdorných výrobcích chromitých před a po jejich použití. Je aplikovatelná pro pálené magnezio-chromité výrobky (obsahující přírodní chromit, tavená zrna nebo dvojslínek) a pro nepálené výrobky (se žárovzdorným cementem nebo chemickými pojivy), její použití ale není omezeno jen na tyto typy žárovzdorných materiálů a výrobků. Metoda je použitelná až do koncentrace 500 mg/kg šestimocného chrómu
