Tato norma stanovuje požadavky a metody zkoušení pro prodávané a dodávané automobilové palivo ethanol E85. Platí pro automobilové palivo ethanol E85 určené pro použití ve vozidlech se zážehovým motorem kon-struovaným pro ethanol E85.

Automobilové palivo ethanol E85 je směs 85 % (V/V) ethanolu s bezolovnatým benzinem, ale zahrnuje i možnost mísení různých "sezónních poměrů" benzinu a ethanolu s obsahem ethanolu vyšším než 50 % (V/V)
