Norma poskytuje schéma pro charakterizaci plastových odpadů, ve kterém jsou uvedeny ty vlastnosti, u kterých musí dodavatel odpadů vypracovat informace dostupné odběrateli a metody zkoušení, kde je to potřebné. Ve schématu jsou informace rozděleny na "Požadované údaje", které jsou povinné a doplňkové "Volitelné údaje", ze kterých si může dodavatel vybrat, pokud chce poskytnout další hodnoty odpadů.
