Tato norma specifikuje stanovení dusíku podle Kjeldahla v kalech, upraveném bioodpadu a půdách. Dusičnany a dusitany se touto metodou nestanoví. Látky s dusíkem vázaným ve vazbách N-N, N-O a některé heterocykly (pyridin) jsou stanoveny pouze částečně. Mez detekce je obvykle 0,03 % dusíku a mez stanovitelnosti je 0,1 % dusíku (při titraci kyselinou sírovou s koncentrací 0,25 mol/l)
