Tato norma stanoví všeobecné požadavky na výrobu, kontrolu a zkoušení přetavené vsázky a odlitků z ocelí a ze slitin niklu a kobaltu. Podrobné požadavky na přetavenou vsázku a odlitky jsou stanoveny v EN 2103-2 a EN 2103-3. Pokud na výkresu, v objednávce nebo v postupu kontroly není stanoveno jinak, vymezuje odkaz na EN 2103 pouze úroveň jakosti 2, uvedenou v tabulkách 4 nebo 5 podle EN 2103-3
