Norma je identická s EN 22857:1989. Stanoví výrobní tolerance pro závitovou část závitníků, které jsou používány k výrobě metrických závitů ISO o tolerančním poli 4H až 8H a 4G až6G podle ustanovení ISO 965./1 až 3 (vyjmuty jsou toleranční pole 7G a 8G, které se zpravidla nevyrábí broušenými závitníky). Norma platí pro krátké závitníky a pro všechny jiné tvary broušených závitníků o stejných průměrech a roztečích, které jsou stanoveny v ISO 529. ČSN EN 22 857 (22 3007) byla vydána v prosinci 1993. Nahradila společně s ČSN 22 3006 ČSN 22 3007 z 16.1.1979
