Tato evropská norma předepisuje metodu zkoušek trubek tahem prstence, která se používá k odhalení povrchových a vnitřních vad působením deformace až do lomu zkušebního tělesa. Zkouška může být rovněž použita k posouzení schopnosti trubek plasticky se deformovat. Zkouška tahem prstence se používá pro trubky s vnějším průměrem větším než 150 mm a s tloušťkou stěny ne větší než 40 mm. Vnitřní průměr musí být větší než 100 mm
