Norma je identická s EN 317:1993. Určuje metodu stanovení bobtnání plošně nebo výtlačně lisovaných dřevěných desek, vláknitých a cementotřískových desek. Podstata zkoušky stanoví: "Bobtnání se stanoví měřením přírůstku tloušťky zkušebních těles po úplném ponoření do vody". Normalizován je i postup zkoušky. ČSN EN 317 (49 0166) byla vydána v prosinci 1995. Nahradila ČSN 49 0166 z 11.9.1980
