Norma je identická s EN 464:1994. Specifikuje zkušební metodu stanovení odolnosti plynotěsného obleku vůči pronikání plynů, například velkými otvory, připevněními, švy, překrytími mezi díly, póry a všemi vadami v materiálu výrobku. Normalizována je podstata zkoušky, která stanoví: "Poté co byl oblek nafouknut na definovaný tlak, je stanoven následný únik vzduchu, zaznamenáním tlaku zjištěného po definovaném časovém úseku."
