Norma specifikuje požadavky na směsi PVC pro izolaci, používané pro komunikační kabely. Jsou uvedeny požadavky na maximální jmenovitou teplotu, hustotu a tvrdost, mechanické vlastnosti v dodaném stavu a po stárnutí, tj. pevnost v tahu a tažnost, úbytek hmotnosti, zkoušku tepelným rázem, zkoušku tlakem při vysoké teplotě, chování při nízké teplotě, tj. zkoušku ohybem a zkoušku tažnosti, vnitřní rezistivitu, tepelnou stabilitu, smrštivost a dielektrickou konstantu.
