Norma popisuje dvě interferometrické metody pro měření úhlu šikmo broušených čel optických vláken. Automatickou metodou (referenční) s přímou analýzou interferometrických zobrazení nebo manuální metodou s relativním úhlovým odečtem se zjišťuje osový úhel čela, rotační úhel klíčování a poloměr za-křivení plochého rovinného nebo sférického (konvexního) zakončení optického vlákna.
