Norma je identická s EN 663:1994. Stanoví tři metody zjišťování hloubky vzoru pružných podlahových krytin změnou vzhledu význačných rysů vzoru. Vzory jsou rozděleny takto: Skupina 1: Vzory, kde jsou odlišné pásy (v barvě a/nebo reliéfu) rozděleny stejnoměrně a poměr vzoru k pozadí v malých plochách 0,01 m2 až 0,02 m2 není větší než 1:4; skupina 2: Vzory, kde tento poměr značně kolísá a některé plochy 0,01 m2 až 0,02 m2 mohou obsahovat pouze jednu část vzoru. Normalizována je podstata zkoušky a její postup. ČSN EN 663 (91 7832) byla vydána v prosinci 1996
