Tato evropská norma určuje postup pro stanovení tepelné vodivosti metodou topného drátu (paralelní uspořádání) žárovzdorných výrobků a materiálů. Postup je použitelný pro hutné a izolační tvarové a práškové nebo zrněné materiály (viz 6.2) s tepelnou vodivostí do 25 W m-1 K-1. Hranice je dána rozměry zkušebního tělesa; materiály s vyšší tepelnou vodivostí mohou být měřeny při použití větších zkušebních těles. Měřeny nemohou být materiály elektricky vodivé.
