Tato norma specifikuje požadavky na bezpečnost průmyslových elektrotepelných zařízení a instalací, v nichž infračervené záření - obvykle generované infračervenými zářiči - je výrazně dominantní před tepelnou konvekcí nebo tepelnou kondukcí jako prostředky přenosu tepla do ohřívaného nebo zpracovávaného materiálu.
