Norma ISO 25178-3 specifikuje úplný operátor specifikace pro texturu povrchu (měřítkem vymezené povrchy) pomocí plošných metod. Úplný operátor specifikace (viz ISO 17450-2) sestává ze všech operací požadovaných pro jednoznačnou specifikaci. Skládá se z úplného souboru jednoznačných operací specifikace v jednoznačném pořadí. Pro texturu povrchu plochy definuje úplný operátor specifikace typ povrchu, metodu extrakce, metodu přiřazení a filtraci textury povrchu pomocí plošných metod.
