Tato mezinárodní norma stanoví základní pravidla pro volbu polohy nebo směru a smyslu pohybu ovládačů, které vyvolávají pohyb ovládaných částí stroje v daném směru ve dvou vzájemně opačných smyslech. Norma se nevztahuje na ovládání částí, které se otáčejí plynule v jednom smyslu během normálního provozu stroje (např. elektromotory). V poměrně stručné normě jsou stanovena základní pravidla a dále pravidla nebo požadavky na ovládání pákami, tlačítky a ručními koly. ČSN ISO 447 (20 0010) byla schválena 10.5.1991 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.6.1992. Nahradila ČSN 20 0010 z 29.11.1971
