Norma obsahuje ISO 6154:1989. Tato mezinárodní norma určuje metody přípravy vzorků chromových rud pro stanovení chemického složení a obsahu vlhkosti dodávky. Metody jsou použitelné pro všechny chromové rudy, přírodní i upravené. Poměrně rozsáhlá je kapitola definice, zásady přípravy a vlastní příprava vzorků a dělení vzorků. Normalizovány jsou i další otázky, jako je spojování vzorků, jejich označování apod. ČSN ISO 6154 (44 1580) byla vydána v září 1993. Touto normou se nahrazují oddíly 1, 3, 6 až 8 ČSN 44 1711 z 21.8.1985. Společně s ČSN ISO 6153 nahrazují ČSN 44 1711 z 21.8.1985, která tím pozbývá platnost
