Norma obsahuje ISO 7741:1986. Stanovuje všeobecné požadavky a běžné zkušební metody pro nůžky používané v chirurgii. Poměrně stručná norma stanovuje (spíše heslovitě) technické požadavky (kap. 4) a k nim zkušební metody (kap. 5). Zkouška na odolnost vůči dezinfekci, čištění a sterilizaci normou předepsána není. Je předepsána pouze zkouška odolnosti vůči vařící vodě. ČSN ISO 7741 (85 5730) byla vydána v prosinci 1994. Nahradila ČSN 85 5730 z 7.3.1986
