Dieses Dokument legt Anforderungen an fabrikfertigte metallgekapselte Wechselstrom-Bahnschaltanlagen mit Spannungen und Frequenzen von Bahnnetzen nach EN 50163:2004 fest, die in Innenräumen und im Freien verwendet werden. Die Kapselungen können fest eingebaute oder herausnehmbare Komponente enthalten und können zur Isolation mit Fluiden (Flüssigkeit oder Gas) gefüllt sein. Für metallgekapselte Bahnschaltanlagen mit gasgefüllten Schotträumen wird der Konstruktionsdruck auf maximal 300 kPa (Überdruck) begrenzt.
