Diese Internationale Norm behandelt die Sicherheit von Mikrowellengeräten, die für den gewerblichen Gebrauch bestimmt sind und deren Bemessungsspannung nicht mehr als 250 V für einphasige Geräte, die zwischen einer Phase und dem Neutralleiter angeschlossen werden, und 480 V für andere Geräte beträgt. Geräte, die durch diese Norm erfasst werden, haben offene Applikatoren (als Beispiel wird in Bild 103 ein Überblick gegeben) für die Behandlung der Last. Sie werden in drei Typen unterteilt: - mit Einführapplikator, typischerweise zur Beseitigung von Feuchtigkeit durch Einführen in Löcher in Fußböden, Wänden oder Decken (ein Beispiel ist in Bild 106 dargestellt); - mit großflächigem Kontaktapplikator, typischerweise zum Trocknen von Fußböden, Wänden oder Decken (Beispiele sind in Bild 104 und Bild 105 dargestellt); - mit kleinflächigem Kontaktapplikator, typischerweise zum Entfernen von Farbe und punktförmiger Aufheizung (ein Beispiel ist in Bild 107 dargestellt).
