Diese Internationale Norm enthält spezifische Anforderungen für die Aussendung und Störfestigkeit, Prüfungen und Leistungskriterien für Fehlerstrom-Schutzeinrichtungen (RCD) für Hausinstallationen und ähnliche Verwendung, für Bemessungsspannungen bis höchstens 440 V an. Hausinstallationen und ähnliche Anwendungen entsprechen der Beschreibung in der Fachgrundnorm IEC 61000-6-1 für elektromagnetische Umgebungen im Wohn-, Geschäfts- und Gewerbereich sowie in Kleinbetrieben. Dieses Dokument ist dafür vorgesehen, dass in den RCD-Produktnormen darauf verwiesen wird, und es ist nicht zur Anwendung als eigenständiges Dokument vorgesehen.
