Die Begriffe sind systematisch geordnet und nach Stahlerzeugnissen in Gruppen eingeteilt: nach Form und Maßen (z.B. Flacherzeugnisse, Langerzeugnisse, schwerer Formstahl) und nach Aussehen und Oberflächenzustand (z.B. oberflächenveredelte Flacherzeugnisse, Blankstahlerzeugnisse).
